Sclerotherapy has been the gold standard of treatment for leg veins. It involves injecting a solution of sterile water, sugar salt and detergent into the affected veins. This causes the damaged vein to close down and the body then resorbs it. Sigvaris compression is covered by most medical insurance plans and helps to relieve swelling and aching of varicose veins, post-surgical, pregnancy-related and post traumatic injuries.
