Sclerotherapy has been the gold standard of treatment for leg veins. It involves injecting a solution of sterile water, sugar salt and detergent into the affected veins. This causes the damaged vein to close down and the body then resorbs it. This allows the blood flow to be redirected to healthy veins.

Sigvaris compression is covered by most medical insurance plans and helps to relieve swelling and aching of varicose veins, post-surgical, pregnancy-related and post traumatic injuries.

Compression also relieves heaviness, swelling and aching related to prolonged occupational sitting, standing or driving. Medical compression is also useful for air and car travel to reduce risk of swelling and blood clots.
